This was our very first year of Participating in the Crossfit Open as a gym! What an awesome experience it was! Most of or members are new to the sport of Multi functional fitness, so it was very challenging and very rewarding at the same time. This event really brought us together as a community even more so then we already are. We had members that accomplished workouts far beyond what they thought they could do – Can I just say…..16.5 Oh My! There were a handful of members that did the workouts more then once to gain a few more reps or to get a better time. I think one of my favorite moments was when one of our members that had only been with us for 2 weeks and attempted 16.4:

55 Deadlifts (225/155)
55 Wall Balls 20/14
55 Calorie Row
55 Handstand Push ups
She was on the Rower and didn’t think she could finish and was almost done with the Row with only 30 sec left and I told her just roll off and get some push ups – and she did 12 of them! She got 3rd place in the gym! After all that work she put in it was Oh so rewarding for her! Just simply the sense of accomplishment was Huge! If I could sum up the 2016 CrossFit Open in one word it would be – Challenging! But so rewarding in so many ways! Looking forward to 2017 Crossfit Open!
